Larry Wayne Ragsdale

Mr. Larry Wayne Ragsdale, age 70, a resident of Culleoka, passed away on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at his residence.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 24th at 2:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Rick Points officiating. Burial will follow in Maury Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends on Sunday, January 23rd from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Larry was born in Franklin, Tennessee, and was the son of the late Marshall Ragsdale and the late Mildred Scott Ragsdale.

He graduated from Franklin High School and worked as a truck driver for the City of Franklin for 35 years. He attended Williamsport Baptist Church. Larry had a passion for playing guitar as a young boy at 7 years old and continued playing his entire life. He was well known in Columbia as a musician and played in a band for years. He enjoyed watching westerns and Nascar races. He had a special love for his dog, Baby Girl. Most of all he loved his sons and grandchildren. He will be missed.

Larry is survived by his sons, David (Beverly) Ragsdale and Danny (Teresa) Ragsdale, both of Culleoka; sisters, Shirley (Charles) Nash of Hickman County, Patricia Cagle, Connie Geasley, and Cheryl Carroll, all of Columbia; grandchildren, Larry David Ragsdale of Culleoka, Cindi Jae Ragsdale of Franklin, Kelsey Ragsdale of Columbia, Mercedes Estes of Columbia, and Blake Estes of Culleoka; great-grandchildren: Jaylee Hope Cantrell and Kennedy Goatz, both of Franklin, and Wesson Marcrom of Columbia; special niece, Chasity Jacobs; and many nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Kay Ragsdale; sister, Lisa Boshers; and brother-in-law, Steve Boshers.

Pallbearers will be Mark Hardy, James Ray Bolten, Jamie Anderson, Derrick Carroll, Gary Bolin, and Cody Johnson.

The family would like to express a special thanks to the staff at NHC Maury Regional Transitional Care Center and the nurses of Caris Hospice, Bre, Rhonda, and Jessica for all their care.
