Lena Louise Bibb Goodwin, age 87, passed away on March 21, 2024, at Brookdale Senior Living in Columbia, TN, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on November 7, 1936, in Columbia, TN, to the late Charles R. Bibb and Bertie Lindsey Bibb.

Lena’s life was characterized by her unwavering devotion to her family. A true caretaker at heart, she possessed a strong will and emerged from humble beginnings. Alongside her husband Coleman, they ensured that their family never went without. She found joy in spending time with her loved ones, cherishing every moment shared.

She kept her mind and eyes sharp with word searches, she would fly through them it was her favorite pastime. When she wasn’t word searchin’ Lena could often be found knitting, a skill she used to craft over 75 personalized Christmas stockings over the years, each a testament to her love and thoughtfulness.

Nature held a special place in Lena’s heart, and she found solace in tending to her flowers. She enjoyed cooking as she lovingly prepared meals to ensure that no one in her family ever went hungry. Sundays were particularly special, as Lena delighted her loved ones with her signature fudge.

After her children had grown, Lena poured her love into her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, showering them with affection. However, none received as much adoration as April the Chihuahua, whom Lena spoiled with attention and affection.

Lena Louise Bibb Goodwin will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love, generosity, and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched.

Lena is survived by two children: Randy (Martha) Goodwin, Jennifer (Michael) Mosley; four grandchildren: Tammi (Todd) Fox, Shandi Kiddoo, Michae (Patrick) Dodson, and Shallyn Mosley; ten great-grandchildren; and brother Charles Edward Bibb. She is preceded in death by her siblings: William “Bill” Bibb, Orell Uptain, Francis Ballard, and Margaret Cope.

A funeral service to celebrate Lena’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2024 in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, TN with Bro. Charles Clark officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until service time. Lena will be laid to rest beside her husband Coleman at Polk Memorial Gardens in Columbia, Tennessee. https://www.williamsfh.com

Pallbearers are: Randy Goodwin, Michael Mosley, Todd Fox, Trey Fox, Case Kiddoo, Tallan Dodson, Kingston Dodson, and Patrick Dodson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Clark’s Class at the Church of God of Prophecy.
