Mr. Elmer “Leon” Patterson, age 67, resident of Columbia, passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2022 at Williamson Medical Center.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, February 12th at 3:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Leon was born December 27, 1954 in Rockford, Illinois, and was the son of the late Elmer Benton Patterson and the late Minnie Margarett Patterson.
He was an owner of a long haul truck and operator for Swift for 11 years. He worked for General Motors for 35 years. He enjoyed rock and roll music, especially Queen and Led Zepplin. He also liked to fish and ride his motorcycle. Leon was a comical man always making jokes. Most of all he loved to take care of his family. He will be missed.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Patterson of Columbia; children, Jennifer Lynn (Jared) Preston of Dallas, TX, Wendi Graves of Harrison, AR, Jacob Patterson (Ariana Adams) of Oregon, Thomas Williams of Culleoka, TN, and Robert Patterson of Columbia, TN; brother, Nichalos, John; brother in law, Billy (Sherri) Lovan of Columbia; sister, Margaret, Carolyn, Rosemary; grandchildren, Seselly, Kiana, Issac, Alyssa, Benjamin, Garrett, Jonah, Skylar, Morgan, Yvelynn, Alicia, Caleb, T.J., and Autumn; and many nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Lois and Georgia.
