LV Rubert

LV Rubert, 89, retired welder for Inter-City Products and resident of Columbia, died Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at Poplar Estates.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Jim Cox, Everett Campbell, and Randy Short officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4:00 P.M – 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com.

Born April 10, 1932 in Lawrence County, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Clyde Samuel Rubert and the late Della Rose Chennault Rubert. Mr. Rubert enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming, and many years ago was on a couple of bowling leagues. He was a member of Smyrna Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, whom he married, July 9, 1955, Beatrice King Rubert of Columbia; son, Troy (Lori) Rubert of Columbia; daughter, Tammy (Chris) Holmstrom of Lenexa, Kansas; brother, William Rubert of Culleoka; and grandchildren, Caleb (Hope A.) Rubert, Mackenzie Rubert, and Connor (Hope M.) Rubert.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Bobby Rubert, Tony Rubert; and great-grandson, Dexter Kyle Rubert.

Active pallbearers will be Caleb Rubert, Connor Rubert, J.D. Lineberry, Roscoe Brannon, Todd Rubert, Bob Slaughter, Harold Crabtree, Ross Pullen, Ricky Rubert, and Bryan Rubert. Honorary pallbearers include men of Smyrna Church of Christ.
