Maria Luisa Flores, age 71, wife of Roy Flores, and a resident of Columbia, passed away Thursday evening, May 11, 2023, at Maury Regional Medical Center.
Born on September 19, 1951, in Donna, Texas, Maria was the daughter of Baudelia Briones Aleman and the late Eugenio Aleman.
She married Roy Flores on April 28, 1973, and they were long time members of St. Catherine Catholic Church. She was a devoted mother and wife who always put others needs before her own.
She is survived by her husband of fifty years, Roy Flores, mother, Baudelia Briones Aleman, children, Anna Flores, Roy Flores, Jr., Marisa Flores (Gabriel) Thorne, brothers, Jesse Aleman, Jose Angel Aleman, Eugenio Aleman, Jr., David Aleman, Arnaldo Aleman, Alfredo Aleman, Eduardo Aleman, Pedro Aleman, Juan Aleman, sisters, Elvia Aleman, Herminia Aleman, Ana Aleman Putman, and Emily Aleman McAlpine.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jose Arturo Aleman.
A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, May 18, 2023, at 11:00 AM at St. Catherine Catholic Church with Father Louis Rojas officiating. Entombment will follow in Maury Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home.
