Marie Ann Fitzsimmons, age 80, and a resident of Hampshire, passed away Monday, August 22, 2022, at Life Care in Columbia.
She was born February 23, 1942 in Wayne County, Michigan to the late Thomas Thompson and the late Anna Marie Mitchel Thompson Yurchak.
She worked for over 23 years as a proofreader for Valassis. Marie was of the Christian Faith. She loved helping out when she could and above all loved spending time with family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by a son, Mark (Michelle) Fitzsimmons of Hampshire; daughter, Renee Malaney of Michigan; sister, Fran (Chris) Zielinski of Michigan; sisters-in-law, Ellen Thompson of Ohio and Charlotte Thompson of Michigan; grandchildren, Marianne (Travis) Brooks of Hampshire, Christopher (Megan) Morgan of California and Matthew (Clarissa) Fitzsimmons of Columbia; great-grandchildren, Preston Fitzsimmons, Mallorie Fitzsimmons, Beau Morgan and Ben Morgan; and special friends, Vickie Karas and Connie Fein; nieces and nephews, Jeff, Michelle, Christina, Stacey Lyn, Lisa, Michael, and Vincent Junior; and a host of great-nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Frank Yurchak; brothers, Edward Thompson, Tommy Thompson and Vincent Yurchak; and a special friend, Paula Roman.
The family will be holding private services in Michigan.
