Marquise Allen Nash Obit

Marquise Allen Nash departed this life on May 3, 2025, at the age of 23. He was born in Detroit, Michigan, on October 20, 2001, to Bessie Christine Watkins and the late Garrey Thomas Nash, Jr.

Marquise lived a life that defied simple definition. He was a rare soul-generous, eccentric, full of laughter, and profoundly kind. Marquise graduated from Lewis County High School and was proud of the work he did with Trace Lawson Construction, where he poured not only skill but heart into every task. He held deep respect for his job and his boss, always striving to make Trace proud.

Marquise had a deep love for music and found both joy and peace in solitude. Though private in many ways, he loved people fiercely. His optimism, sense of humor, and pure-hearted nature made him a light to those around him. He loved the Lord and lived with a spirit of quiet faith that touched those who knew him.

He held an immense love for his grandfather, who raised him; it was a bond that remained one of the most meaningful in his life.

In addition to his father, Garrey Nash, Jr.; he was also preceded in death by his grandmother, Darlene Nash.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his dad, Garrey Thomas Nash, Sr.; brother, Marcus Watkins; sister, Mariah Nash; aunts, Dawnmarie Lahera, Diane Nash, Darlene Nash, and Linda Nash; nieces, Alayna Nash, Leighton Hall, Taelyn Hall, and Azura Watkins; cousins, Jesse & Patricia, Christian, Julian, Lorenzo, Mike, Juan, Jimmy, Jaelyn, Jessica, Avant, Jordan, Luca, and Arian; as well as other extended family and friends.

Marquise’s presence was unforgettable-his heart, beautiful. His legacy will live on in the many lives he impacted with love, kindness, and laughter.

Visitation with Marquise’s family will be on Friday, May 9th, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Blondy Church. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 10th, at Blondy Church. Burial will follow in the Swiss Cemetery.
