Mary McKee Holloway, age 97, a resident of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away, Thursday, August 18, 2022, at her residence.
Born on March 18, 1925, in Santa Fe, Tennessee, Mary was the daughter of the late Max McKee and the late Ruby Gaskell McKee.
She was a 1943 graduate of Santa Fe School and attended Draughon Business College. She worked for the State of Tennessee for several years and later owned her own beauty shop, Coiffur Studio, in Donelson. Later in life, she owned and operated Holloway’s beauty shop and dress shop in Lebanon. After many years, she worked for Estee Lauder before retiring.
Mary was an avid reader. She grew beautiful flowers and was an amazing cook, known for her impeccable coconut cake. She was of the Methodist faith.
She is survived by her brother, Earl McKee of Columbia, sister, Martha (Carlton) Davenport of Columbia, sister-in-law, Louise McKee of Columbia, grandson, David Holloway of Columbia, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, Hugh T. Holloway who passed away on June 19, 2001, son, David B. Holloway, and brother, Frank McKee.
A visitation will be held on Monday, August 22, 2022, from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at Heritage Funeral Home with a graveside immediately following at Santa Fe Cemetery.
