Maureen Tharp, a woman of love and kindness, passed away on August 9, 2025, at the age of 70 in Nashville, TN. Born on October 7, 1954, in Patterson, NJ, Maureen was the cherished daughter of Edward and Virginia Curren McCullam.
Married to her beloved husband, Richard Tharp, Maureen was filled with strength and devotion within her family. She was a loving mother to her daughter, Lynda Salletta. Her brother, Thomas McCullam, will also remember her. While her sister Judy McCullam predeceased her, the love they shared remains a comforting memory to all who knew them.
Maureen’s joy was multiplied as she embraced her role as a grandmother to Mitchell, Shaynna, Aryana, Abigail, and Joseph. Her love further extended to her great-grandchildren, Lucas, Bryce, Jake, Elijah, and Harper, who brought immense happiness and laughter into her life.
An avid coffee drinker, Maureen often found peace in the simple pleasure of a warm cup and porch sitting. Fishing was another of her passions, a hobby that allowed her to connect with nature and enjoy peaceful moments by the water. In September, Maureen enjoyed spending her time at the Shore in New Jersey with her husband and family. Yet, nothing compared to the time she spent with her beloved pets—Blu, Regan, Lunabell, Biscuit, Chanel, and Yvonna. Each of them held a special place in her heart and home, and their companionship was a source of endless comfort and joy.
Maureen’s presence was a gift to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her loving and kind nature was evident in every interaction, every smile, and every word of encouragement she offered. She had a unique ability to make everyone feel valued and loved, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of her family, friends, and community.
