Melissa Diane Brown, age 50, a resident of Columbia, passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at Maury Regional Medical Center.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Shirley Graham officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held on Monday, February 14, 2022, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Diane was born on December 29, 1971, in Maury County, Tennessee, and was the daughter of the late William Glen Cates and the late Jewell Francis Guthrie Cates. She loved her family and spending quality time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons, Austin Reed Brown of Columbia, Matthew Ryan (Cassidy) Brown of Columbia, sisters, Debbie Oliver of Columbia and Donna Terry of Columbia, her twin sister, Dawn Cates of Columbia, grandchildren, Dreama Hickman, Gracelynn Pigg, Kaesen Brown, Copelyn Brown, son in law, Auston Pigg, best friend, April Posey, the fathers of her children, Wayne Hickman and Tim Brown, numerous nephews, and special dog, Paco.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Chelsey Hickman Pigg, on November 13, 2021.
Pallbearers will be Darrell Cates, Jason Oliver, Corey Terry, Cody Terry, Dustin Jett, and Brandon Jett.
