Nancy Jean Slaughter Lumpkins, age 58, a resident of the Water Valley Community in Santa Fe, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at Magnolia Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Born on January 4, 1966, in Maury County, Tennessee, Nancy was the daughter of the late Arthur Slaughter and the late Iris Ragsdale Kelley.
A graduate of Santa Fe School and a dedicated member of Santa Fe Baptist Church, Nancy’s faith was central to her life. She found joy in baking, crafting, and thrifting, and her enthusiasm for celebrating the holidays brought warmth to her family and friends. Above all, she cherished her time with her daughters and grandchildren, nurturing their lives with love and devotion.
She is survived by her daughters, Stephanie Jones of Columbia, TN, Jessica Jones of Columbia, TN, Emily Lumpkins of Santa Fe, TN, sister, Stacy Kelley, grandchildren, Alayna Thompson, Jamie “Jay” Thompson, Jr., Addison Grimes, Brayden Lumpkins, Carson Lumpkins, Lilyaunah Lumpkins, Josiah Armstrong, Isla Ramirez, Ivy Ramirez, and great-grandchildren, Katie Hubbert, and Silas Hubbert.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur & Rebecca Slaughter and Iris Ragsdale, husband, Anthony Southall, brothers, Arthur Slaughter, Jr., Larry Jo Kelley, nephew, Brandon Slaughter, and two angel grandchildren.
A celebration of Nancy’s life will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Santa Fe Baptist Church, with her grandson, Jamie “Jay” Thompson, Jr., officiating. A visitation will also be held on Saturday, from 12:00 – 2:00 PM at the church. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. https://www.tnfunerals.com
