Peggy Jewel Costal (Brooks) was born on June 27, 1957 to her parents, Jasper Adron Brooks and Agnes Marie Brooks (Pylant) and passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2024.
In 1974 she met a young military man. He used to lower a duffle bag out his barrack window, she would get in, and he would pull her up to be able to see her after lights out. After just a couple of weeks of dating, they married in Virginia. She had to lie about her age in order to be able to get married. So, it is unclear if that marriage is even legal. Either way, she spent the next 50 years with him. Mama always loved with her whole heart. She would do anything for those she loved, even to her own detriment.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, David “Son” Brooks. She is also preceded in death, and now reunited with her son Joseph “Little Joe” James Costal III.
She is survived by her husband Joseph “Joe” James Costal Jr., and daughters Alissa Jo Andrews (Patrick) of Columbia and Virginia Marie Schulz (Joshua) of Summertown. More than life itself, she loved her grandkids. Brianna Marie Schulz, Dominic Brian Andrews, Taylor Joanne Schulz, Jaida Jolynn Costal, Joshua Marshall Schulz, and Ava Jewel Andrews. Also, survived by her sister Judy Tinsley (Roger) and brother JW (Shorty) Brooks (Sonya). She is also survived by her four legged best friend, Dixie.
There will be a celebration of the love we still feel from her on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at Williams Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a service at 2:00 PM. https://www.williamsfh.com
