Penny Lynn Morton, age 52, passed away on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at Maury Regional.
Penny was born on June 29, 1969, in Maury County to parents, Rayburn Burks and Catherine England Burks.
She loved spending time with family; she loved the 4th of July because of the fireworks, cooking, and family time. She was a wonderful cook and loved sharing that talent with the ones she loved. She enjoyed listening to old rock and roll music. She liked to spend her time-solving crossword puzzles and drawing. She loved staying up late watching scary movies. She loved spending time with children, especially her great-nieces and great-nephews.
She is survived by her daughter: Heather Morton; sons: Trey Morton and Dylan Jones; mother: Catherine Burks; sister: Stephanie Wray and Michael Pollock; nephew: Deno Wray; nieces: Cassey Payne and Chris, Ashley Wray and Steven Davis, Kayla Massey and Eddie; great-nieces: McKenize Payne, McKylie Payne, and Lainey Ceyrolles; great-nephews: Kasetyn Ceryolles, Waylon Davis, and Ozzy Davis; cousin: Denise (John) Massey; best friend: Helen McNabb.
She is preceded in death by her father, Rayburn Burns; husband, Shorty Morton; special cousin, Matt Morton.
Visitation will be held Friday, August 27, 2021, at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Service will follow starting at 2:00 p.m. She will be laid to rest at Shaffer Cemetery in Summertown.
Pallbearers will be: Vincent McNabb, Dylan Jones, Deno Wray, Michael Pollock, Jackie Payne, Chris Payne, and Trey Morton.
Honorary pallbearers will be: staff at Mt. Pleasant Health and Rehab.
