Rick Young, 70, resident of Columbia, TN, and retired Registered Nurse for Maury Regional Medical Center, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at Maury Regional Medical Center.
Born on January 6, 1954, in Warren, Michigan, he was the son of the late Robert Young and the late Mildred King Young.
Mr. Young was an avid hunter in his younger years and enjoyed metal detecting, collecting Civil War artifacts, and was a huge Sci-fi fan. On January 10, 1989, Rick married the love of his life, Myra Dial Young. They celebrated 35 wonderful years of marriage together.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Clinton (Jessica) Young; grandsons, Alexander Young and Lewis Young; brother, Rodney (Mary Lynne) Young; and niece, Lisa (Jerry) Swanson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Young.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, March 18, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Swango officiating. Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Monday, March 18, 2024 from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
