Mr. Robert Edward “Eddie” Burns, age 66, husband of Becky Davidson Burns, and a resident of Bear Creek Pike in Columbia, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at his residence.

A native of Columbia, Eddie was born on September 23, 1956, and was the son of the late Robert Houston Burns and the late Eddice Sneed Burns.

He proudly served in the United States Army from 1976 – 1980 where he was stationed in Germany. He married Becky Davidson on September 18, 1981. He had a variety of music he enjoyed listening to from rock n roll to bluegrass and old country and often enjoyed watching Nascar and football, especially the UT Vols. Above all, Eddie loved his family and watching his grandchildren grow. He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Dustin Colt (Tiffany) Burns of Mt. Pleasant, daughter, Brittany Shaya Nicole (Bryan) Zimmerman of Smyrna, brothers, Ronnie (Rachel) Burns of Columbia, Jerry (Faye) Burns of Pulaski, Mike Burns of Columbia, sister, Sharon (Allen) Woods of Columbia, grandchildren, Trinity Zimmerman, Averi Zimmerman, Kannon Zimmerman, Emmy Zimmerman, Lily Burns, and several nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.
