OBITUARY: Robert John Wilson

Robert John Wilson, also known as “Berto,” passed away on January 18, 2024, in Columbia, TN, at the age of 44.

Born on September 3, 1979, in Detroit, Michigan, Robert brought joy and laughter to everyone he encountered throughout his life. He was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend.

Robert had a vibrant personality and was always ready with a joke to bring a smile to everyone’s face. His quick wit and infectious grin made him a joy to be around.

In his free time, Robert enjoyed spending quality moments with his wife Erica and their daughter Destiny. He also had a passion for gambling and bingo, finding excitement and joy in these activities.

Robert attended Spring Hill High School and later pursued a career as a machine operator at Mersen. He was dedicated to his work and took pride in his role. His commitment and work ethic earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues.

Robert will be deeply missed by his loved ones. He is survived by his wife Erica (Haney) Wilson, his only daughter Destiny Wilson, his father Walter Wilson (Stacey Wilson), his mother Amelia Counts, his siblings Walter Wilson Jr., Tina Wilson, Cindy (Van Wicklin) Wilson, and Jeremiah Van Wicklin. He also leaves behind his nieces and nephews, Bailey, Alexis, Jeremy, Miranda, Caleb and Jesse. His dogs, Kilo and Shay.

A visitation to honor and celebrate Robert’s life will be on Saturday, February 3rd at 2:00 pm. The compassionate professionals at Heritage in Columbia, TN, are assisting the family with the cremation. https://www.tnfunerals.com

Robert Wilson will forever be remembered for his infectious laughter, his kind heart, and his ability to bring happiness to those around him. May his memory live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
