Ronnie Wayne Richardson, born on August 21, 1949, in Arab, Alabama, passed away Tuesday, July 26th, 2022, at Maury Regional Medical Center.
He was a 1968 graduate of Summertown High School, where he served as President of the Student Body and was voted Most Athletic. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers, the Columbia Elks Lodge, a long-standing member of The Shop, and was retired from AT&T after many years of dedicated service.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, the late Bobby and Lovone Richardson. He was also preceded in death by one nephew whom he loved greatly, Jeremy Kyle Richardson.
He is survived by two daughters, Rhonda (Greg) Scott and Nikki (Troy) Clark, four grandchildren, Dillon (Amanda) Scott, Shelby (Josh) Baxter, Shane Smith, and Shannon Smith, one great-grandchild Gentry William Baxter, two brothers, Lannie (Susan) Richardson, Jimmy (Vickie) Richardson, and one sister, Patricia (Butch) Jackson, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, July 30th, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with the Honorable Judge Bobby Sands and W.L. Culberson officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Friday from 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Active pallbearers will be Mike Bassham, Wayne Smith, Ricky Lovell, Chris Baker, W.L. Culberson, and Kenneth Martin. Honorary pallbearers include members of The Shop, Columbia Elks Lodge, and The Telephone Pioneers.
