Rose Mae Musgrove Rowland, age 88, a resident of Columbia, was called home to Jesus on Thursday morning, October 27, 2022.
Rose was born on April 27, 1934, in Limestone County, Alabama and was the daughter of the late Robert Alonzo Musgrove and the late Lucinda Viola Gibson Musgrove.
She was a homemaker and loved by so many. A very humble spirit, she was very reserved, quiet, and kindhearted and loved helping raise her grandchildren. Rose wrote many poems and songs dating back to 1959, all of which were handwritten in her book. She loved canning from her garden and growing beautiful flowers. She was always proud of her Indian heritage. Rose was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church of Columbia for many years and taught her family the truth.
Survivors include her sons, Jacky R. (Wanda) Rowland, Jeffrey D. (Kristy) Rowland, daughters, Donna Keys (Gary) Witherow, Marsha R. Kinzer, grandchildren, Jimmie H. Rowland, Derrick A. (Jessica) Kinzer, Brian M. Keys, Cody D. (Melissa) Rowland, Allison M. Kinzer, Toni (Lance) Malcolm, Ginger (Brandon) Adams, Jennifer Parker, great-grandchildren, Colton A. Kinzer, Mikayla E. Kinzer, Brenna L. Rowland, Jackson A. Kinzer, Abbie, Natalie, and Levi Malcolm, McKenzie, Amberlin, and Jaiden Bishop, Jaxson, Jacoby, Caleah Rowland, and Hunter Golden, great great grandchildren, Teddy Kinzer and Chevey Rowland, and sister, Frances Arbuckle.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Crystal Lynn Rowland, grandsons, Brent Matthew Keys and Cody Golden, special son-in-law, Tommy N. Kinzer, first husband and father of her children, Jimmie R. Rowland, Sr., sisters, Mamie Jones, Janie Chapman, Minnie D. Roberson, and brothers, Robert and Jessie Musgrove.
The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers. They extend their thanks to the entire staff of Aveanna Hospice.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 30, 2022, at 3:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Brother Rick Points officiating. A visitation will also be held on Sunday from 1:00 – 3:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Polk Memorial Gardens on Monday, October 31, 2022, at 10:00 AM.
Pallbearers will be Derrick Kinzer, Colton Kinzer, Jim Howard Rowland, Randy Fitzgerald, Willie Adams, and Lance Malcolm.
