Rose Marie Jones Sharp, 88, lifelong resident of the Bear Creek Community, passed away Friday, May 24, 2024 at American Home Assisted Living Facility in Lebanon.

Born June 26, 1935 in Maury County, she was the daughter of the late Will Jones and the late Pearl Black Jones.

She taught preschool at Highland Park Baptist Church for several years, also known as a wonderful cook, she enjoyed gardening and her greatest joy was her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Rose was a longtime member of Berea Church of Christ.

Survivors include her daughter, Sharon Sharp (Gary) Ligon of Lebanon; three sons, Jerry (Jerri) Sharp of Columbia, Tim Sharp of Hermitage and Stephen Sharp of Lewisburg; five grandchildren, Bethany (Ryan) House, Savannah Sharp, Kami (Chase) Dunnavant, Kerrie (Jay) Griffin and Ashley (Scotty) West; eleven great-grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; niece, Linda Brasher of Nashville; cousin, Jan Cox of Myrtle Beach, S.C.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Julian Sharp on July 7, 2014, whom she married on May 8, 1953; brother, Dale Jones; sister, Margie Hardison; two grandsons, Scotty Ligon and Todd Sharp.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, May 30, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Drew Love and Judge Bobby Sands officiating. Burial will follow in Jones Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Thursday from 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Ryan House, Tyler Thompson, Jason Dodson, Shayne West, Scotty West and Richard Love. Honorary pallbearers will be Evan Gooch, Preston Bolton, Roberta & Derrick Dawson and the members of Berea Church of Christ.
