Sara Peay Shouse, age 95, resident of Columbia, passed away on Friday, October 20, 2023, at Life Care Center of Columbia.
Sara was born December 12, 1927, and was the daughter of the late Edwin Peay and the late Mae Brown Peay.
She was of the Christian faith and went through the 10th grade in school. She was forced then to come home to help with farming because of the Depression. She enjoyed being a housewife but most of all being a mother and very loving grandmother.
She is survived by her son, Danny Shouse; daughter, Debbie Shouse (Norman) James; grandchild, Jack James; great-granddaughter, Blakley James; nephew, Michael (Leah) Cook; and numerous nieces and nephews on the Shouse side of the family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Elmer Shouse; sister, Edna Peay Cook, infant daughter, Judy Shouse and daughter-in-law, Brenda Shouse, and brother-in-law, Wayne Cook.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 23rd, 2023, at 11:00 am, with Rick Points officiating at Santa Fe Cemetery. A visitation will be held graveside from 10:00 AM until the 11:00 AM service hour at the cemetery. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. https://www.tnfunerals.com
