Steven Eugene Thomason, age 60, a resident of Columbia, passed away Tuesday evening, April 12, 2022, at Maury Regional Medical Center.
Born on February 23, 1962, in Columbia, Steve was the son of Gloria Darlene Hobbs Thomason and the late Arzo “Junior” Thomason.
He was a 1981 graduate of Columbia Central High School and was proud of the fact that he had perfect attendance all thirteen years. Steve loved riding motorcycles, and in his younger years, often enjoyed rabbit hunting. He was a kind, loving, and helpful person who loved his family, especially his grandchildren and beloved dog, Bubba.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his sons, Brandon (Julie) Dodson of Santa Fe, Josh (Savannah Prentice) Thomason of Columbia, daughter, Mary Beth (Nolan Bone) Grissom of Columbia, special friend, Bev Thomason of Columbia, and grandchildren, Riley Dodson, Adelyn Dodson, Lucy Dodson, William Dodson, Mason Thomason, and Maverick Thomason.
Along with his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Frank “Hippie” Nelson, and uncle, Russell Hobbs.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Cynthia McGowan officiating. Burial will follow in Shane Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Monday, April 18, 2022, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. https://www.tnfunerals.com
