Summer Nicole Anderson, age 29, a resident of Columbia, passed away Friday, May 12, 2023, at her residence.

Born on March 19, 1994, in Maury County, Summer was the daughter of Gary Anderson and Leigh & Mark Anderson.

In her childhood, “Bug” as she was known by many, enjoyed power tumbling and gymnastics and was in numerous beauty pageants. Although she was passionate about her hair, makeup, and clothes, she was a “tomboy” who loved riding dirt bikes with her brother and friends. Summer enjoyed listening to music and loved ALL animals.

She was extremely free spirited and very loving, compassionate, and giving. Even when she was struggling with herself, she was always there for others and put other’s needs before her own. A great sense of humor, you could always count on Summer for a good laugh. Above all, she was a devoted mom who lived each day for her children. She worked as a press operator for Victory Supply Inc. and, most importantly, became saved in 2022.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her beloved children, Izayah Keels, Zayleigh Anderson, brothers, Jacob Anderson, Bradley “Beau” Elam, step-sister, Kayla Anderson, step-brother, Nathan (Rosie) Anderson, sister in law, Miranda Elam, aunts and uncles, John (Rachel) Nelson, Elizabeth (Keith) Alderson, Terry Anderson, Carol Anderson, Ava Anderson, special cousin, LaTerria Anderson, boyfriend, Edjuan “Pierre” Jones, the father of her children, LA Keels, and numerous cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Sammy Anderson, Pearl Burkeen, maternal grandparents, David Nelson, Rebecca Heinsohn, and many loved ones and friends who she lost to addiction.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 19, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Heritage Funeral Home. A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 18, 2023, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Honorary pallbearers will include Summer’s work family at Victory Supply Inc. and her friends who are still fighting the fight of addiction.
