Mr. Ted Ellington Ring, Jr., age 69, husband of Sandra Haywood Ring, and a resident of Columbia, passed away Sunday, May 8, 2022, at Maury Regional Medical Center.
Born on January 1, 1953, in Davidson County, Ted was the son of the late Ted Ellington Ring, Sr. and the late Mary Lee Crabtree Ring.
He married Sandra Haywood on February 12, 1971, and together they had two children. He worked many years for Union Carbide and was most recently a pipe fitter for the Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Local 572 in Nashville. He loved fishing and riding motorcycles and four wheelers.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Melissa Diane Ring (Robby Gaines) of Columbia, son, Stephen Wayne Ring (Angelia Baker) of Columbia, brother, Terry “Rusty” (Patsy) Ring of Hampshire, sisters, Paula McCandless of Columbia, Linda (Thomas) Claiborne of Columbia, grandchildren, Joshua Allen Ring, Bentley Allen Ring, great-grandchildren, Aiden Shawn Ring, Jericho Ryker Jones, Destinee Sky Jones, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Tommy Ring, and brother-in-law, Gary McCandless.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 13, 2022, at 1:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Monte McCandless officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 12, 2022, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. https://www.tnfunerals.com
Pallbearers will be Joshua Ring, Bailey McCandless, Jerimiah Jones, Jeffrey Riggins, Paul Ring, and Tommy Claiborne. Honorary pallbearers will include Ronnie Riggins, Ronnie Smith, Bobby Mangrum, Paul Riggins, Terry Pope, and the Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Local 572.
