Thomas Andrew Brookshire Obit

Thomas Andrew Brookshire, age 74, journeyed to his heavenly home on February 16, 2025, his parting was quiet and gentle. Born on August 22, 1950, in Aurora, Illinois, to the late Clifton Monroe and Anna Thomas Brookshire.

Tom’s journey through life was one of perseverance, kindness, and unwavering integrity. Tom faced adversity early in life, but rather than allowing hardships to define him, he used them to shape himself into a man of strong character and compassion. He dedicated his life to lifting others up, ensuring that his friends, family, and even strangers felt valued and supported.

At a young age, Tom answered the call to serve his country, joining the U.S. Army. He served for seven years until he was medically discharged due to heart conditions. Following his time in the military, he pursued a career in technology, working as a Field Service Engineer in the IT industry for much of his life. With his generous nature, he used those skills often and repaired friends and family members’ computers for free, simply because he wanted to help.

Tom was a man of deep faith and conviction, a devoted member of the Lawrenceburg Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He carried himself with quiet strength, always choosing to do what was right, even when no one was watching. His sense of humor was infectious, bringing laughter to those around him, but never at another’s expense. His kindness was intentional, his love unconditional.

Above all else, Tom found his greatest joy in his family. He cherished time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, showering them with love, wisdom, and warmth. While he enjoyed hunting and fishing, admiring God’s creation, his true happiness was in the love he shared with those closest to him.

Tom’s legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched with his generosity, faith, and unwavering kindness. He is deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.

A celebration of his life will be held at Tom’s church; the date and time will be posted soon. Tom is survived by his wife: Diana Brookshire; children: Robert Bishop, Kelly (Craig) Yachuw, Heather Brookshire, and Carolyn (Todd) Tiffany; grandchildren: David (Rachel), Kacey (Nate), Bethany, Stephen, Andrew, Dustin, Wade, Sean, and Deanna; great-grandchildren: Evelyn, Diana, Grayson, Tommy, Victoria, and Damien.
