Mr. Thomas “TJ” Ray Hendrix, Jr., age 41, husband of Carol Ann Hendrix and resident of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Thursday, February 9, 2023, at Maury Regional Medical Center.
Born on May 28, 1981, TJ was the son of the late Thomas Ray Hendrix, Sr., and Evie Genie Lee Harville.
He worked as a property manager for Burchell Properties. He was a member of the Union Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church. TJ enjoyed watching football (a big UT fan), fishing and being outdoors. He has a great love of history; which he has instilled into his daughter. Above all, he loved his children.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Carol Ann Runions Hendrix, children, Paisley Gene Hendrix and Stephen Haze Hendrix, sister, Monica (Jeff) Hendrix-Wells, parents-in-law, Barry and Vicki Runions, brother-in-law, Lee (Holly) Runions, grandfather-in-love, Gene Craig “Pepaw”, niece and nephews, Evererlette, Zaydeth and Cypher Runions, and special aunts, uncles and cousins.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his loving stepfather, Stephen Edward Harville, maternal grandparents, Jasper and Georgia Lee, paternal grandparents, Clarence and Era Hendrix and Raymond and Ann Harville, several loving aunts and uncles, and grandmother-in-love, Carolyn Craig “Memaw”.
The family would like to express thanks to the Maury Regional Medical Center CCU nurses and doctors, Quality First, Amedysis and special nurse, Judy.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Lyndall Propst officiating. Burial will follow in Loftin Cemetery. A visitation will also be held on Tuesday from 12:00 – 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. https://www.tnfunerals.com
Pallbearers will be Ryan Anderson, Bubba Lee, Anthony Lee, Rusty and Rickey Solomon, Jeff Lee, Andy Lee, Ronald Wayne Crick, David and Joseph Lee and Lee Runions. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Ann Arthur, Parker and Wanda Francis and William O’Neal, Samantha (Michael) Workman, Martin Hudspeth, Terry Williams, Rick Reynolds, Scotty Williams, Eric Armstrong, Adavin James, Marion Williams, Andy Craig, Thomas Lee, Destine Ragsdale, and Members of Grove Cumberland Church.
