Timothy Michael Fitzgerald, age 54, husband of Melissa Smith Fitzgerald, and a resident of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro.
Born on December 13, 1968, in Waterbury, Connecticut, Timothy was the son of Phil Fitzgerald and the late Sharon Kenny Rebisz.
He married Melissa Smith on November 24, 1990 and worked most of his life as an automobile mechanic before retiring. He enjoyed classic cars, fishing, and family vacations to the beach. He never met a stranger and enjoyed conversating with many people he either met or encountered throughout his life. Above all, he loved his family, and will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Steven Fitzgerald (Aurielle Wright) of Knoxville, TN, Kelley Fitzgerald (Dreak Oden) of Columbia, TN, Jon Rebisz of Columbia, TN, Kelby Walker, daughter-in-law, Amanda (Chris) Collins, brothers, Mark (Colleen) Fitzgerald, Brian (Monique) Fitzgerald, sister, Nancy (Butch) Hansen, grandchildren, Aden Rebisz, Adalynn Oden, Everly Oden, nephews, Phillip Fitzgerald, David Fitzgerald, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Along with his mother, he was preceded in death by his son, Jay Rebisz.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 15, 2023, from 3:00 – 6:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home.
