Victor C. Beck, Sr., 94. a resident of Columbia, Tennessee passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2023, at Life Care Center of Columbia

Born March 23, 1928, in Lawrence County, he was the son of the late Homer Clarence Beck and the Late Viola Pearl Gizzard Beck.

In 1995, he married Fay Gallion Beck who preceded him in death on October 12, 2012.

Mr. Beck retired from Monsanto after 30 years as an electrician and EMT, he was a member of Anderson Bend Church of Christ and a member of the Arkland Volunteer Fire Department for many years.

He served his country in the Army Air Corps in 1946. He was a passionate farmer most of his life, eventually raising over 100 head of registered angus cattle and building a meat processing plant. He was well-known for his homemade jams and jellies, as well as his country hams. He and his wife, Fay, delivered Meals on Wheels for ten years.

Survivors include his children, Dr. Victor C. (Tricia) Beck, Jr, Teresa (John Tomlinson) Beck, Steve (Carol) Beck, and Barry Beck; grandchildren, Vic (Juli) Beck III, Adam (Holly) Beck, Jason (Robin) White, Zach (Erin) White, Mason (Melissa) Smith, and Liz (Bob Biehl) Beck; great-grandchildren, Lilli Beck, Charlie Beck, Jack Beck, Henry Beck, Bella White, Chloe White, John Beck, Wyatt Beck, Bennett Beck, Benjamin White, Robert (R.J.) Biehl; step-children, Skip (Cathy) Beck, Mike (Molly) Beck; step-grandchildren, Zach (Britton) Beck, Makali (Haley) Beck, Jesse Bower, Trip Bower, Roxanne (Landon Flynn) Beck, Riley Beck, Gabrielle Beck, Amanda Hughes, and Hunter Beck; and brother, Dickie (Sandy) Beck.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Willie (Bill) Beck, Ralph (Neal) Beck, Thomas J. Beck, Marshall Beck, Jerry Beck; sisters, Mallene (George) White, Gerolene (Ed) Ray, and Janice Beck Wynn.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Stan Butt officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 1:00 P.M. until service time at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Vic Beck, Adam Beck, Jason White, Zach White, Charlie Beck, and John Beck.
