Viney Mao, age 58, husband of Nhem Dalin, and a resident of Columbia, passed away Monday, October 4, 2021 at his Residence.
A visitation and funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2021 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born April 18, 1963 in Cambodia; Viney was the son of the late Mao Phon and the late Nhen Roeung. He became an American citizen in 1989 and proudly served the country as an Eagle One Pilot in the United States Air Force for 10 years under the Obama Administration. Viney was very proud of his fluency in 5 different languages. He attended trade school at Nissan and went on to work as a mechanic for the company. Viney was of the Buddhist faith.
In addition to his wife, Viney is survived by his sons: Bory (Latrece Hill-Mao) Mao of Memphis, Vannan (Neisha Mao) Mao of California; daughters: Bopha Mao of Memphis, Vanny Mao of Memphis, Christina Viney of Columbia, Jessica Mao of Columbia; 12 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
