OBITUARY: Walter Frank Jones

Mr. Walter Frank Jones, age 76, husband of Sissy Jones, and a resident of Columbia, passed away Wednesday evening, December 29, 2021, at his residence.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, December 31, 2021, at 10:00 AM at Maury Memorial Gardens with Hal Brown officiating. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on April 24, 1945, in Columbia, Frank was the son of the late Joseph Albert Jones and the late Helen Estelle Sullivan Jones. He married Sissy Tate Jones on December 23, 1976 and worked his entire career as a plumber and electrician. Frank enjoyed fishing, watching Nascar, and enjoying a bowl of Blue Belle chocolate ice cream. He was an avid Tennessee Vols and Tennessee Titans fan, and above all, he loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Frank was a member of Jackson Heights Church of Christ.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Helen Marie (Mylan) Coble of Williamsport, Julie Jones of Murfreesboro, Dennis (Liz) Beaver of Columbia, siblings, Turner (Mary Jo) Jones of Williamsport, Annete (Paul) Ledbetter of Lebanon, Johnny (Sandra) Jones of Mt. Joy, Kay (Jimmy) Humphrey of Santa Fe, grandchildren, Katelyn Coble, Hope Coble, Austin McKinney, Tyler (Megan) Beaver, Jacob Beaver, Taylor Beaver, Tiffany Woody, Taylor Burton, and great grandchildren, Kaleb Beaver and Boston Griggs.

Pallbearers will be Tyler Beaver, Austin McKinney, Dale Tate, Alan Tate, Mylan Coble, and Butch Tate. Honorary pallbearers will include, Hal Brown, Charles Dale, and the employees of Discount Plumbing and Electric.

The family would like to extend a very special thanks to Dale & Karen Tate and the nurses, doctors, and staff of Hospice Compassus for their care and compassion for Frank during this difficult time.
