William Calvin Mayberry, known to family and friends as Calvin, passed away on June 6, 2026, in Columbia, Tennessee, at the age of 67.

Born on January 30, 1959, in Hohenwald, Tennessee, Calvin lived a life marked by kindness, loyalty, and a generous spirit. He was a loving and friendly man who made a lasting impression on those who knew him. His warm presence, easy smile, and genuine concern for others reflected the best of his character throughout his life.

Calvin was the son of Christine Cogdill Mayberry and the late Billy H. Mayberry. He was a devoted brother to Mark Mayberry and his wife Jill, Gerri Humphreys and her husband Trev, Randall Mayberry and his wife Julie, and Crystal Dye and her husband Kevin. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who will cherish his memory and the many ways he enriched their lives. Family meant a great deal to Calvin, and his relationships were a source of strength and joy throughout his years.

A hardworking man, Calvin spent time helping his father with the carpentry business, where he learned the value of honest work, patience, and craftsmanship. That experience remained part of who he was, shaping his appreciation for doing things well and helping others whenever he could. He was a faithful member of Bethel United Methodist Church, where his commitment to worship and service reflected the depth of his beliefs. He served as an usher and helped with the preparation for communion, carrying out these responsibilities with care and reverence.

Calvin had many interests that brought him happiness and gave him opportunities to connect with others. He enjoyed airplanes and cars, especially classic hotrods, and he had an appreciation for old movies that reflected his fondness for the stories and memories of earlier times. He also enjoyed visiting the local library and was known for making donations there, showing his support for learning and community. Above all, Calvin found fulfillment in helping people. His generous nature was one of his defining qualities.

Those who knew Calvin will remember him for his loving heart, his friendly manner, and his generous spirit. He had a way of making others feel welcome and valued, and his presence brought comfort and encouragement to many
