Nashville Sounds: Loss 9-3

The Nashville Sounds’ season has been one of winning and losing streaks. They had an incredible winning streak of 15 games, followed by a 4-game losing streak. After breaking that, they are back on a 4-game skid as they fell to the Stripers last night 9-3. Keston Hiura and Jamie Westbrook both collected hits to extend their streaks of consecutive games with a hit. Hiura now has 12 straight games with a hit and Westbrook has 8. Even though the Sounds had more hits than the Stripers, the runs did not follow as they only scored 3 runs but had 13 hits as a team. With last night’s loss, the Sounds officially fell to 2nd in the division.

Atlanta Braves: Loss 10-8

The Braves lost their second straight game to the Red Sox by the same score 10-8. Atlanta trailed the majority of the game until the sixth inning. Swanson and Freeman both homered in the inning and the Braves had taken their first lead of the game 7-6. However, in the next half-inning Christian Arroyo blasted a grand slam and Boston retook the lead 10-7. The Braves would score one more in the bottom of the ninth, but they did not have enough in the tank for a comeback.

Cincinnati Reds: Win 2-1

The Cincinnati Reds extend their winning streak again with a victory over the Brewers yesterday. Tyler Mahle struck out a career-high 12 batters to help pave the way to victory. The game was tied 1-1 in the seventh inning when Barnhard doubled and brought home, what turned out to be the winning run, Votto for the go-ahead run. That was all the Reds needed as the bullpen did their job and kept the Brewers off the run column the rest of the game.

Tennessee Titans:
