Update: May 3, 3pm – Superintendent Lisa Ventura released the following statement:
“I am happy to report that damage at Spring Hill High School was not as extensive as originally perceived. An investigation regarding individuals who participated is ongoing. I am also happy to share that school will be in session on Monday, May 6. I appreciate everyone’s concern and we are blessed to live in a community that reaches out in support when we are in need. I would like to give a special thank you to all helped put our high school back in order.”
Spring Hill High School will be closed on Friday, May 3rd.
Maury County Public Schools stated all faculty and staff will report at 10 am while students do not report. All after-school activities for Friday have not been canceled.
According to WSMV, the district announced the closure is due to vandalism that occurred at the school overnight.
The extent of the school’s damage is unknown at this time.
