The City of Columbia is pleased to announce that Kelli Johnson has joined the City as the new Main Street Manager. She begins March 7, 2022 in this newly created, full-time position.

Johnson’s background is in marketing and events, having worked with nonprofit and for-profit organizations including the Spring Hill Chamber of Commerce. She graduated from Columbia Academy and went on to Lipscomb University where she attained her Bachelor’s Degree in Strategic Communication.

As a Columbia native, Kelli Johnson is proud to call this community her home. “I am excited to be working as the new Main Street Manager for the City of Columbia. My mission is to make downtown Columbia an even more family-centered community for all to enjoy and to continue to elevate downtown Columbia as a top tourist attraction,” stated Johnson. “I look forward to working closely with the board members of the Main Street Corporation to implement a strategic plan of work.”

Columbia Main Street will focus on the “Transformation Strategies” recommended by the national Main Street America program, which focuses on the “Four Points” of Economic Vitality, Design, Promotion, and Organization. The existing non-profit Columbia Main Street Corporation board will serve in an advisory capacity, working in partnership with the City of Columbia and Johnson in her role as Main Street Manager, to ensure continued accreditation as a National Main Street Community while working toward a great future for downtown Columbia.
