The City of Columbia is proud to announce Travis Hanvy as May Employee of the Month! Travis has been with the Public Works Department in the Sanitation division since 2016 and was recently promoted to Sanitation Crew Leader! He continually goes above and beyond the call of duty by quickly responding to emails, work orders, and phone calls to meet citizens’ needs. Travis frequently works on Saturdays to empty sanitation around the downtown square and manages any missed sanitation/recycling needs. He can operate all equipment in the Sanitation fleet, and when needed, he will empty and transport dumpsters, run bulk item collection, and collect brush on daily routes or after big storms when all hands are on deck. He also routinely helps new permit holders in the Sanitation department train for their CDL walk-around inspection and driving tests.
Travis has a positive, upbeat personality and great sense of humor that shines in his daily interactions with all individuals. He is very deserving of this recognition.
