April 20, 2025 – No. 2 Tennessee (33-7, 12-6 SEC) dropped their Sunday matchup against Kentucky (22-15, 8-10 SEC) 8-2 at Lindsey Nelson Stadium.
The Volunteers’ offense struggled against Kentucky starter Ben Cleaver, who limited them to just two runs over seven innings while striking out seven. Hunter Ensley provided Tennessee’s only offense with a two-run homer in the sixth inning, finishing 2-for-4.
Starter Tegan Kuhns (2-2) took the loss after allowing two runs in 1.2 innings. Tennessee’s bullpen couldn’t contain Kentucky, who scored three in the eighth and two in the ninth to secure the upset victory.
The Vols, who committed two costly errors, will look to rebound in their next SEC series.
