“The Black Parade” became much bigger than an album. Released in 2006, the album turned MCR into arena-level stars, with “Welcome to the Black Parade” becoming their signature song. Their current 2026 tour celebrates the album’s 20th anniversary, including the Aug. 13 stop at Nissan Stadium.
My Chemical Romance’s return has become a multigenerational event. Fans who first discovered the band during the early-2000s emo boom are now filling stadiums alongside a younger generation that found songs like “Welcome to the Black Parade” and “I’m Not Okay (I Promise)” through streaming and social media platforms like TikTok, giving the band a rare connection between nostalgia and a new wave of fandom.
For some younger fans, the path to My Chemical Romance actually began with Netflix. After discovering The Umbrella Academy, viewers learned that the comic behind the hit series was created by MCR frontman Gerard Way, opening another door into the band’s music and early-2000s catalog.
Way shared with Loudwire that some of the characters in the Umbrella Academy were based on the personalities of his fellow band members, which led younger fans to explore the band and its history.

Parking is very limited onsite due to the construction of the new Nissan Stadium. The stadium recommends you use this website to locate nearby parking for the concert.
The stadium has a clear bag policy. Clear bags must be 12″ x 12″ x 6″ or smaller. All styles of clear bags are acceptable as long as they are 12″ x 12″ x 6″ or smaller. This includes clear cinch sacks, clear diaper bags, gallon ziploc bags, etc. Guests will not be allowed to empty and collapse a non-approved bag into a clear bag.
Nissan Stadium is cashless. All tickets are digital; have your ticket ready to scan when you enter the stadium. With the heat wave this week, dress comfortably for hot temperatures; you are allowed to bring small personal fans into the stadium.
