Mrs. Wilma Jean Potts Graham, 94, former long-time resident of Parkway Avenue, died Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at Poplar Estates.

Funeral services for Mrs. Graham will be conducted Saturday, June 12, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Pastor Tracy Nelson officiating. Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Friday from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.and Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until time of the service at the funeral home.

Born March 15, 1927 in Columbia, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Clyde Eugene Potts and the late Lillian Estelle Reed Potts. Mrs. Graham attended Andrews Elementary, Whitthorne Junior High, and Central High School. On August 17, 1946 she married Joseph Henry Graham and they were married for 69 years until he preceded her in death on August 31, 2015. She had polio in 1951 at the age of 24, but it did not stop her. Mrs. Graham was a housewife who loved to draw pictures, make ceramics, and loved to crochet. She made bonnets, sweaters, and booties for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed bowling. Mrs. Graham and her husband Joe were members of the Mid Tennessee Road Riders. She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Nashville and was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Women’s Missionary League.

Survivors include her children Sandra Jo Graham (Larry) Gean, David Eugene (Sherry) Graham; daughter-in-law, Barbara Jean “Jeannie” Whitehead Graham; grandchildren, Tracy Graham McGlocklin, Joseph Walker (Jody) Gean, Michael Shawn Gean & Heather Michelle Gean Harvill; great-grandchildren, Lyndsay Gean, Brianna “Bri” McGlocklin, Sesaly Shawn Gean, Nathan Tucker Harvill, Bethany Clover Gean, Jessica Michelle Harvill; nieces, Gwen (Gary) Bailey and Jerry Linda Potts Murphy; nephews, Leo “Clint” Graham, Jr. and Bill (Glenda) Potts.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, James Richard “Ricky” Graham, and brothers, Clyde Reed Potts and Clinton Norman Potts.

Pallbearers will be Joseph Walker Gean, Michael Shawn Gean, Dean Harvill, Nathan Harvill, Gary Bailey, and Chance Schrum.

The family would like to thank everyone at Poplar Estates and The Gardens for the wonderful care they have given Jean. She always said they were angels. Special thanks to Dr. Doug Kennedy and his staff for the wonderful care he has given her and the staff of Hospice Compassus for the care they have given her.
