Carol Sue Tate Moss, 76, loving wife of 60 years to husband Andrew Buford Moss and a longtime resident of Theta Pike, died February 8th, 2023 at her home.

Carol was born in Nashville, TN and attended Howard High school. She had a love for 50’s music, love of watching her flowers and roses growing beside her back deck, cooking for her family and friends, but most of all spending time with her family.

She was always full of life and always wanted everyone around her to know they were always welcome and that she loved them. Carol was of the Baptist faith. She was a wonderful mother to 3 sons, had 9 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Moss retired after 20 years from GE in Columbia, TN.

Survivors include her husband, Andrew Buford Moss; children, Buford Wayne (Tanyel) Moss, Timothy Lee Moss, and Michael Andrew (Hailey) Moss of Smyrna; grandchildren, Adam (Tori) Moss, Seth (Shelsea) Moss, Hannah Moss (Tanner Hallmark), Connor Moss, Tate Moss, Marianna Moss, Destin Moss, Ashton ( Will ) Batey, and Rebecca Rummage; great-grandchildren, Journey Moss, Audrey Moss, Kameron Byrd, Ramsey Moss, Landon Byrd, Gracelynn Moss, Amelia Byrd, Baylor Moss, and Paxton Moss; sisters, Shirley Mayo and Elaine Gunn; brothers, Jerry (Sue) Tate, Bobby Tate, Ricky (Jerilynn) Tate; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur (Ruby) Tate, and brothers, William “Brother” Tate and Arthur “Bootsie” Tate.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 15th at 2:00 pm at Heritage Funeral Home with Jeff Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Tuesday, February 14th from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. https://www.tnfunerals.com

Pallbearers will be Adam Moss, Seth Moss, Connor Moss, Ray Tate, Hayden Plummer, and Tanner Hallmark. Honorary pallbearers will be Kathy Woodard, Peggy Nichols, Matt Hodge, and coworkers at GE.

The family would like to thank everyone for the phone calls and messages over the last several days and the love shown to them in this time.
