The City of Columbia has announced the appointment of Chris Cummins as the Columbia Fire & Rescue Interim Chief, effective March 20, 2024.
The swearing in ceremony was held March 20th at noon. With an extensive career at Columbia Fire & Rescue and background in emergency services and a commitment to public safety, Cummins brings invaluable experience and leadership.
Chief Cummins holds over three decades of experience with Columbia Fire & Rescue. Throughout Cummins’ career, he has demonstrated his ability to effectively manage crisis situations, implement strategic initiatives, and foster strong relationships.
Chief Cummins will serve as the interim chief while the city conducts a comprehensive search for a permanent Columbia Fire & Rescue Chief.
