The City of Columbia dedicated Fire Station No. 3 in honor of the late Barbara Earwood McIntyre. The City hosted a dedication ceremony on Wednesday, March 27, 2024.

Barbara Earwood McIntyre was the first woman to serve as Vice Mayor of the City of Columbia and the first woman elected as City Mayor in 1990. Barbara Earwood McIntyre dedicated her life to public service. She served on numerous local boards and tirelessly strived to make a positive, lasting impact on her local community. She was a true trailblazer for women in leadership, and the impact of her legacy will live on in perpetuity.
