Columbia Fire & Rescue is inviting the community to celebrate the arrival of its newest fire engine during an Engine 5 Push-In Ceremony and Open House on Friday, July 17.
The event will take place from 10 a.m. to noon at Fire Station 5, located at 2633 Nashville Highway, and is free and open to the public.
The push-in ceremony is a long-standing fire service tradition that marks the official placement of a new fire engine into service. Following the ceremony, residents can tour the station, meet local firefighters, take part in fire safety activities and enjoy free food.
