Chief of Police Jeremy Alsup awarded Officer Abbey Boram with Columbia Police Department’s Officer of the Month for February 2024.

On February 29th, 2024, Ofc Abbey Boram was patrolling the parking lot of local establishment and noticed a vehicle occupied with an unconscious person in the driver’s seat. Contact was made with this person and Ofc. Boram discovered they had an active felony warrant from another County. Ofc. Boram detained the person and observed inside the vehicle several items in plain view considered to be drug paraphernalia. Ofc. Boram continued investigating which resulted in the seizure of: one pound of amphetamines, numerous items of drug paraphernalia, and other large amounts of single packaged drugs.

Due to Ofc. Boram’s proactive approach to policing, she was able to remove a felony amount of narcotics and a drug dealer off the streets of Columbia.

Because of Ofc. Boram’s efforts, she has been named the Columbia Police Department’s Officer of the Month for February 2024.
