Chief Jeremy Alsup awarded Field Training Officer Connor Reeves with the Columbia Police Department’s Officer of the Month for January 2024.

On January 17th, 2024, FTO. Reeves initiated a traffic stop after observing a vehicle fail to stop for a traffic light. The driver, an intoxicated female, was placed under arrest by FTO. Reeves for driving under the influence.

FTO. Reeves investigation also revealed that the driver had two children (two-month-old & 18-month-old) left at home alone without any food or water. Subsequently, the two-month-old was admitted to the hospital for dehydration. FTO. Reeves charged the driver with additional charges for two counts of Child Abuse and Endangerment.

Due to FTO. Reeves’s proactive approach to policing, he was able to remove an intoxicated driver off the streets of Columbia and ensure the safety of two children.

Because of FTO. Reeves’s efforts, he has been named the Columbia Police Department’s Officer of the Month for January 2024.

Congratulations FTO. Reeves!
