1. Bloodys and Biscuits

President James K. Polk Home & Museum

The President James K. Polk Home and Museum will host their annual Bloodys & Biscuits fundraiser on Saturday morning from 9:00 to 11:00. They will serve ham biscuits and bloody marys and offer live music in their gardens. Non-alcoholic beverages and children’s snacks will also be available. At the conclusion of the event, guests will be able to watch Columbia’s Mule Day parade which will begin at 11:00 and go past the Polk Home.

2. Historic Elm Springs Paranormal Investigation

This is a unique opportunity for you to investigate this historic gem with Steven “Doogie” McDougal of Travel Channel’s Haunted Towns, and The Fearless Ones Jason Hale and Jeremy Layne. Elm Springs is a location not many have had the opportunity to step foot in after hours. The surface of what these walls hold has not even begun to peel. The first investigation here last year was definitely one to remember. Join these paranormal hunters for a full investigation of this amazing location.

3. Mule Day Parade

Historic Downtown Columbia

Mule Day is an annual celebration of all things related to mules held in Columbia, the “Mule Capital” of the world. It began in 1840 as “Breeder’s Day”, a meeting for mule breeders and now attracts over 100,000 people taking place over four days. In addition to mules, traditional Appalachian food, music, dancing, and crafts are featured. The Mule Day Parade is this Saturday and is the highlight of the festivities!

4. Rory Feek’s Home Concerts

Hardison Mill Homestead Hall

Rory is doing a series of ‘Home Concerts” at Homestead Hall, one weekend a month through June. Spend an evening at the farm with Rory as he shares songs, stories and much for an intimate crowd in the concert hall in his big red barn.

5. Firefighters Park Mule Day Fundraiser

Firefighters Park

Columbia Fire & Rescue will be hosting a fundraiser at Firefighters Park on Mule Day! There will be live music by Antonio Moraes! Food trucks Wing-1-1 and Ooh La La New Orleans Style Shaved Ice will be at the park to satisfy those pre and post parade snack cravings! All proceeds will go to benefit the Firefighters Park Fund for park maintenance and improvements! Organizers are offering a spectacular view of the 2022 Mule Day Parade and have tickets for bleacher style seating available at just $20 per seat (children under 4 free)! Exclusive event t-shirts will be for sale at $25 each! They are also offering tickets for VIP seating which includes a nearby parking spot, 2 seats in our VIP section, and 2 exclusive Mule Day Fire Station t-shirts for just $100!
