1Pumpkin Hunt

Sponsored by Maury County Parks and Recreation, anyone can participate in the 2023 Pumpkin Hunt by following the clues hidden around Maury County Park. Follow the clues and then submit the final clue for a chance to win your own pumpkin and spooky treats! Three winners will be drawn from qualifying entries. The Pumpkin Hunt is estimated to take between one and one and a half hours. Questions and final clue answers must be emailed to Elizabeth McClain at [email protected]. Happy Pumpkin Hunting!

2Creepy Hollow Haunted Woods

Journey down the winding, dimly lit Trails of Terror, visit the Halls of Horror, and take a chance on the Zombie Maze. This is three Halloween activities in one location.  Visitors will come face-to-face with their greatest fears.  Monsters might be lurking around the old abandoned school bus, ghosts haunt the foggy cemetery where crumbling headstones cast shadows, and a fortune teller gives dire warnings before stepping into a maze filled with zombies – an activity sure to terrify even the bravest soul!  It is open every Friday and Saturday night until Halloween, plus Halloween night. There will be a bonfire and concessions are available.

Time: 7:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. every Friday and Saturday night through October 29

7:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Halloween Night

Cost: $30 per person, $2 discount for groups of 15 or more

3Columbia First Fridays

 

Friday, October 6, 5pm – 8pm
Downtown Columbia

Come shop downtown retailers, check out the local vendors and food trucks, listen to LIVE musicians busking on the sidewalk, and stroll through the entire downtown district on October 6th from 5-8 pm in historic Downtown Columbia.

4Pumpkin Friends at Painting With a Twist

Painters of all ages are welcome to attend this class. As long as your child can sit through a 1.5-2 hour class, they are welcome to attend!

*Parents do not have to purchase a seat to sit with child

Class begins promptly at start time indicated for your painting! Please arrive 15-20 minutes prior to class to set up refreshments, grab and apron and be ready to go at class start time! Feel free to bring in your favorite beverage and snacks to enjoy! This class is open to all ages and we request no hard alcohol.

5Choral Evensong

St. Peter’s Episcopal Church
311 West 7th Street

The choirs of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church and the University of Tennessee Southern will join for an evening performance of Choral Evensong on Sunday, October 8th, at 7:00pm in the St. Peter’s sanctuary located at 311 West 7th Street in downtown Columbia, next door to the Polk Home.

This event is a sung evening prayer service steeped in the Anglican tradition. Worshipers are invited to participate in singing hymns and responses from The Hymnal 1982. Choral works include “Magnificat in C Minor” by George Dyson, “Nunc Dimittis” by Paul Smith, and “Ubi Caritas” by Ola Gjeilo. The choirs are led by UT Southern choir director Dr. Andrew Martin and St. Peter’s choir director Dr. Peter Douglas.

This event is free and open to the public with no tickets required.
