Cecil Alvin Blocker, 65, retired truck driver with First Express Trucking and a resident of Columbia, died Friday, December 20, 2024 at Maury Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, December 27, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Randy Baxter officiating. Burial will follow in Morrow Cemetery in the Hampshire Community. The family will visit with friends Thursday, December 26, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home.

Alvin was born on January 29, 1959 in Maury County, TN to the late James Richard Blocker and the late Faye Carroll Blocker. He graduated from Columbia Central High School in 1977 and was a member of Southpoint Church of Christ in Hampshire. Alvin enjoyed riding around the countryside in his jeep, and especially spending time with his daughters and his grandchildren.
Survivors include his two daughters, Virginia Kay Blocker Jones (Josh) of Hattiesburg, MS and Miranda Blocker Franks (Nate) of Columbia; step daughter, Heather Abdon McKnight (Michael) of Columbia; sister, Linda Blocker Dunn of Columbia; brother, Richard “Pete” Blocker, Jr. of Columbia; six grandchildren, Kaylee Jones (fiancé Corey Beavers), Tyler Jones, Russell Thompson (fiancé Elizabeth Riley), Riley Thompson, Reagan Harmon, and Ryan Harmon; great grandchild, Raelynn Thompson; two step grandchildren, Mikey Abdon and Bella McKnight; special aunt, Norma Kelley; special cousins, Gail Cathey and Mary Ann Dotson and several other cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Darleina Kay Blocker on June 24, 2020.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Dunn, Bryan Dunn, Billy Carroll, Bart Kelley, Tommy Carroll, Comer Brewer, Troy Brewer, Ricky Dunn II, John William Dunn, Josh Deknoblough, Barry Clay, and Todd Baxter. Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Hamby, Frank Cathey, Doug Clay, Danny Johnson, Ronnie Houze, Glenn Louden, and Jeff Raney.
