Bobby Gene Boatman, age 76, resident of Columbia, passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at Maury Regional Medical Center.
Born on October 10, 1947, in Lewisburg, Tennessee, Bobby was the son of the late Clyde Edward Boatman and the late Lucy Laurine Hainey Boatman.
He was a 1965 graduate of Forrest High School in Chapel Hill. Bobby dedicated years of service to Derryberry Drug Store and CVS, where he worked as a clerk until his retirement.
He was an active member of the College Grove Church of Christ. Bobby had a profound affection for children and animals and devoted himself to community service, notably contributing to the success of the Mule Day parade. His commitment extended to volunteering for Civil Defense.
He is survived by his sister, Barbara Crigger of Belfast, Tennessee. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Locke Boatman.
A memorial service to celebrate Bobby’s life will be held on Thursday, December 21, 2023, at 6:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home, where Bro. Greg Gwin will officiate.
