Brenda Gail Thurman Wilson, 69, retired employee of Maury Regional Medical Center, died Thursday, July 29, 2021 at Alive Hospice in Nashville.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 10:00 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Dr. David Craig officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Born April 20, 1952 in Maury County, she was the daughter of the late J. B. Thurman and the late Dorothy Mae Hubbell Thurman. She was a 1970 graduate of Columbia Central High School, where she played in the First Championship Band. Mrs. Wilson attended Columbia State Community College and received a Medical Transcriptionist Certificate. Several years ago, Mrs. Wilson was involved with AGAPE. She loved traveling, cruises, dining experiences, movies, reading, boating, and camping.
Survivors include her husband, whom she married August 4, 1989, Lonnie Lee Wilson of Columbia; brothers, Don (Pam) Thurman of Columbia; Dennis (Rolanda) Thurman of Columbia; children, Jeffrey (Brittney) Carroll of Columbia; Gina Carroll of Memphis; grandchildren, Madeline Carroll, Trystan Carroll; nieces and nephews, Kyle Thurman, Kimberly Thurman (Andy) Coates, Lindsey Thurman (Mitchell) Hahn, Kali (Wes) Lentz; several great-nieces and nephews.
Active pallbearers will be Mitchell Hahn, Wes Lentz, Mike Lentz, Kyle Thurman, Bo Scott, Steve Potts, and Andy Coates.
