Carolyn Jane Cole Jarrett, 79, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, died Tuesday, July 13, 2021, at her residence on Canaan Road, Columbia.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 12:00 at Heritage Funeral Home with Rick Points officiating. Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends and family on Friday from 5-7 pm at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to be made to the Alzheimer’s Association: 478 Craighead St. #200, Nashville, TN 37204; or Hospice Compassus of Columbia: 380 Hatcher Ln, Columbia, TN 38401. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Hospice Compassus for all their loving support and care.
Born March 10, 1942, in Columbia, she was the daughter of the late Julian David Cole, Sr. and the late Addie Jane Fly Cole. She was a graduate of Columbia Central High School. Carolyn later went on to attend Columbia State College where she earned an Associates of Arts Degree. She was a loving sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt. In her younger years, she played Senior and Lady’s slow-pitch softball on her dad’s softball team along with her sisters. She loved to read. As a child, she would be found up in a tree reading her book. She and Edward loved the outdoors. They loved to fish. She kept her nose to the ground looking for special rocks and arrowheads. She has a vast collection of unique rocks. She and Edward were a very close couple. You never saw one without the other. Carolyn was an exceptionally kind lady whom everyone loved.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Hubert Edward Jarrett, son, Daniel (Molly Tate) Edward Jarrett; granddaughter Hollie Cole Jarrett; grandson William “Rooster” Jarrett, and sister, Mary Lee Cole (Stan) Coffman and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by Sisters: Evelyn Harwood, Joanne Ramsey, Claire Malugin, Bettye Grigsby, Janice Uptain, and brother, Julian David Cole, Jr.
Pallbearers will be: William “Rooster” Jarrett, Jeremy Taft, Stan Coffman, Monty Uptain, Tim Ramsey, and Christ Murphy. Acting as Honorary Pallbearers will be the family of Ed Jarrett and the family of Carolyn Jarrett.
