Edgar Fletcher “Eddie” Gray, Jr., 76, owner and operator of Gray Bail Bonding and a life-long resident of Columbia, died Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at St. Thomas-West in Nashville.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Kenneth Lovett officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com.

Born January 1, 1945 in Maury County, he was the son of the late Edgar Fletcher Gray, Sr. and the late Sarah Lillian McKennon Gray. He was a self-taught piano player and talented vocalist, who was at one time part of the Joyful Echoes Christian Band. Mr. Gray was well-known for his loving, kind, and thoughtful personality, always there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He never met a stranger and was always a friend to everyone.

Survivors include his children, Christie Dawn (John) Kennedy of Port Charlotte, Florida; Michelle Shelly Gray (Danny) Benson of Columbia; Gina Elizabeth Barksdale of Columbia; Sarah Nichole Gray of Columbia; John Kevin Gray (Charmante Isabell) of Columbia; James Kevin Hanson of Murfreesboro; Leslie Kay Hanson of Hohenwald; eighteen grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Wendy Alison Gray; and brother, Walter Edward Gray.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
